Small Wonders Too was opened in 2005, it was completely refurbished and has been equipped with great up to date resources. There are 5 bright and spacious rooms, The Baby Room, The Toddler Room, The Two Room, The 3 and 4 Room and lastly the Holiday Club Room, each being age specific and all with enough space for the children to run around and burn of that excess energy even on the wettest of days (Although we do play out even when it is raining – raincoats and umbrellas are provided!)
Each room has age appropriate resources all easily accessed by the children themselves allowing them to have free choice and us to provide continuous provision as outlined by the EYFS, the early years curriculum.We also have a comfy chill out room used mainly by our after school club where they can relax after a very hard day at School!
We have a fabulous secure outdoor area with a grassed section, including a “Look Out Mound” in case any pirates or enemies approach!! We have an outdoor play area, a safety surfaced slide and climbing tower area and a hard surfaced section where the children can use our wide range of outdoor equipment such as ball, hoops, bikes etc. On nice days we take the whole “classroom” outside so we have a small marquee to provide extra shade allowing us to stay out all day.
We have a large well equipped kitchen where all the children’s meals are prepared daily by Lisa our fantastic cook, using fresh produce delivered by local suppliers. We have 4 Star rating with Environmental Health.
Security and safety go hand in hand with children and so you can be assured that our build is a totally safe environment for your children. Entry to the Nursery is via an electronically and intercom controlled system. Once through the main front door you will find yourselves in our reception area with an adjourning office. Access through to the main part of the nursery is then through another set of locked doors which are security coded protected. We only allow access through to the main nursery areas to parents or other agencies we know, so you can be sure that your children are always totally safe with us.
